When he took over the family estate in 2001, Antoine Sanzay still delivered his entire harvest to a cooperative winery. Those days are long gone and the work accomplished since then is immense.
With 12 hectares of Cabernet Franc in the Saumur Champigny appellation (including 4 for the magnificent Les Poyeux plot) and 1 hectare of Chenin in the Saumur appellation, Antoine Sanzay produces elegant, fine and precise wines. One of our customers recently told us that he had found the Paterne bourgeois, in the noble sense of the term. It is true that these are not rock n'roll wines, but they can be wonderful, especially for those who have the patience to wait a few years in the cellar. Antoine is undoubtedly one of the greatest producers of Saumur-Champigny!
